The Western Reserve Reading Project is a federally funded research study that focuses on the development of reading and math skills, by evaluating how genes and environmental factors are involved in the development of these skills later in life. Learning to read and developing math skills are some of the most significant events in any child's life, and for some children, reading and math comes very naturally; however, for others it can be a struggle. The Western Reserve Reading Project (WRRP) is exploring how the environment affects children's ability to learn to read and master other skills, like mathematics and attention.
